Cardinal Giorgio Marengo Participates in the Extraordinary Consistory Convened by Pope Leo XIV
On 26–27 June 2026, Pope Leo XIV convened an Extraordinary Consistory at the Vatican, bringing together cardinals from around the world. Among the participants was Cardinal Giorgio Marengo, Apostolic Prefect of Mongolia and head of the Catholic Church in Mongolia.
During the two-day gathering, the cardinals reflected together on the current state of the Catholic Church, the challenges facing local Churches in different regions of the world, the mission of evangelization, and ways to strengthen peace and unity. The Consistory provided an opportunity for open dialogue, shared discernment, and mutual exchange on the pastoral priorities of the universal Church.
