House of Mercy

The House of Mercy is a humanitarian center in Mongolia dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing homelessness, poverty, and illness. Established in 2022 and blessed by Pope Francis during his Apostolic Visit in 2023, it was created in response to the growing social challenges in Ulaanbaatar and the Church’s desire to offer concrete, compassionate service. Today, it stands as a visible sign of the Church’s commitment to accompany those who suffer, providing a space where people in crisis can find care, protection, and dignity.

Through its outreach programs, including hot meals for the homeless, access to primary medical care, and social support services, the House of Mercy responds to some of the most urgent and complex needs in the city. Its services address not only immediate physical necessities but also the emotional, psychological, and social realities that vulnerable individuals face.

Beyond its humanitarian work, the House of Mercy has become a vibrant hub of collaboration. It brings together parish volunteers, youth groups, professionals, religious communities, local authorities, and people of goodwill from diverse backgrounds who share a common desire to serve. This spirit of cooperation has helped create a welcoming community rooted in compassion and respect for the dignity of every person.

Guided by its mission of mercy, the House of Mercy strives not only to alleviate suffering but also to restore hope, rebuild confidence, and accompany individuals toward a more secure and dignified future.
