Communities
The Catholic Church in Mongolia was founded in 1992 with the arrival of the first three CICM missionaries—Fr. Wenceslao Padilla, who later became the first bishop, Fr. Robert Goessens, and Fr. Gilbert Sales—whose pioneering work established the foundation of the Church. Over the years, new missionary communities have joined them, contributing significantly to the development and vitality of the Church’s mission. Across the country, these communities serve through a wide range of social, educational, and faith-based initiatives, accompanying the most vulnerable, supporting families, strengthening communities, and helping the Church take root and flourish in Mongolian society.
