On December 4, 2025, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh, at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican.

Following the audience, the President held meetings with the Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, as well as the Under-Secretary for Relations with States, His Excellency Monsignor Mihăiță Blaj.

During these discussions, both sides noted the dynamic development of friendly relations and cooperation between the two Heads of State in recent years. They exchanged views on further deepening collaboration in the fields of history, culture, and humanitarian affairs, while also emphasizing the importance of expanding these ties in the future. Particular attention was given to the positive contribution of the Catholic Church in Mongolia to society, especially in the areas of education and healthcare.
